When it comes to Polearms, the ones I’ve had have been “meh”-tacular at best.

The beauty of these series of posts, is finding items I never would’ve known existed otherwise. It contrasts most of the gear in the game (particularly mail) that it will stand out in a good way with just about any outfit you create. Some prefer the “sun” version ( Emberhawk Crossbow), but if you want a good crossbow why not go to a Huntsman? The Steelhawk Crossbow that drops from Attumen in Karazhan is such a sleek looking weapon, period. If it drops for you, it’ll be from Ick (still one of my favourite bosses).ġ. It came late to the expansion though, as it was added in Heroic Pit of Saron. No surprise it’s from Wrath, with the heavy ice motiff going on with it.

If it’s the crossbow for you, that’s pretty easy to obtain.Ģ. This is the only item you can get from a Vendor (either Shattrath City or the Isle of Quel’Danas). It’s a very vibrant weapon and there aren’t very many that will stand out like this one. Crossbow of Relentless Strikes is one on the list I’m not sure where I actually place it, so it is in the middle. Slave Pens in particular is where you’ll find this weapon, as it drops from Rokmar The Crackler.ģ. Also, there are many beasts in Coilfang that I would happily skin and make a weapon out of for all the grief they caused me during The Burning Crusade.
At the moment, my Hunter still uses this skin because it’s a step up from what I always pictured a crossbow to look like. The Coilfang Needler is sleek in its design and that’s part of its appeal to me. If you agree, head the Old Kingdom and hope Amanitar (hence the name) drops it (on Heroic).Ĥ. There are similar skins that look more like the arrow is coming out of a dragon’s head but that’s partly why I chose this one because it was different from the others. Not in the “I will do nasty damage” kind of way, but more in the “Just what kind of nasty creature does that skull belong to” kind of way. The Amanitar Skullbow starts us off with a nasty looking weapon. Each “end-level” chapter of World of Warcraft has managed to improve on that slightly, but if MogIt is correct there are only 62 and some share skins. The thing I learned about playing a character who used only crossbows (even pre-Transmog era) is there aren’t very many of them. As we return to our look at some of the best looking weapons in the game, I thought I would give Hunters some love by looking at one of their weapon options: Crossbows.
